It’s that time of year again, summer is in full swing my favourite tennis tournament is underway and the All England Club will enforce the age old dress code tradition of ‘Wimbledon Whites’.
I love to see how certain players inject their personality into what is a very strict dress code of all white. Don’t panic I’m not about to suggest you rock up in a short white gym skirt, knee high socks and tennis shoes, it would take someone very special to pull that look off. You may think white is a difficult colour to pull off (or just keep clean!) but it really isn’t. It suits any skin tone, looks fabulous on a beautiful sunny day, and can make you look classic, chic and sophisticated even in a basic linen shirt.
You can pick up a long-line white shirt from most stores this season, to mix up your look you can either; wear it as a dress; tie it at the waist paired with your 70’s flared jeans (one of this seasons trends) or pop a vest underneath and leave it undone as a cover-up with some skinnies. I love to wear an oversize white shirt to channel the sexy wearing my mans’ shirt look!
Add a pop of colour in your accessories, I’m loving a yellow bag for something a little different this summer. If you want to stick to a classic look red, navy or tan accessories will give the finishing touch to complete your look.
I have picked out a few beautiful white pieces to give you some ideas, you can see the full details and more items here on my Pinterest site.
I was lucky enough to attend Wimbledon a few years ago and managed to see the likes of Serena Williams, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic. It was one of the best days out I have ever had, and of course, I wore white.
