LOOK 1: Studio 8 Brand Launch – John Lewis, Kington.
So after reading the post about New Plus Size Label Studio 8 you know all about the new brand. You will also remember I was lucky enough to be invited to The Lauch of Studio 8 at John Lewis in Kingston, London, but what on earth would I wear?
As it was going to be a pretty long drive to attend the event, I wanted to be comfortable in my outfit but also wanted to try and represent myself as fashion and beauty blogger, no pressure then!
The PR manager for the store, Louise, was really friendly and she had arranged a Clarins massage and tonic treatment for us all upon arrival, which went down a treat. I was also lucky enough to win the Twitter raffle for three full size Clarins products that had been used for the arrival treat (result!) so look out for the verdict on that in a post very soon.
The evening was a roaring success and it was great to meet some other bloggers, both new and established and have fun trying on lots and lots of fabulous clothes!
I wore – Wallis Black Printed Kimono Top, £32; Next Lift, Slim and Shape Skinny Jeans, £45; M&S Crossover Platform Slingback Sandals, £35. These jeans are amazing they really do lift, slim and shape, I’ve had lots of nice compliments while wearing them and they are surprisingly comfortable.
LOOK 2: Date Night! Mojo The Foodbar, Newport, South Wales.
We were originally invited to attend the exclusive preview of new high end restaurant Mojo The Foodbar. Can you believe it was the same night as the Studio 8 launch in London. I was torn but had to go with fashion over food and cocktails on that day. That decision meant we missed out on a red carpet arrival, complimentary cocktails and canapés and meeting the team set for success at the new venue.
What I didn’t know was that my amazing husband had planned an alternative when he realised I was double booked and had reserved us a table for the following week, perfect for ‘date night’!
I’m actually pleased we went the following week, as much as the fancy opening event would have been great, we got to experiance the real atmosphere and culinary delights that Mojo has to offer.
After our canapés and cocktails at the bar we settled at an intimate table close to the kitchen so we could see all the action as it unfolded. I love the anticipation building as you see other tables getting their orders, then you spot yours being lovingly prepared. The food was amazing and the service was impeccable. What was really nice was the fact we got to have lengthy chats with both the head of mixology Christos, and the owner Lewis, that probably wouldn’t have been possible at the event and made us feel really welcome, it was the perfect evening.
I wore – Alice and You V Neck Blouse, £20; Next Lift, Slim and Shape Skinny Jeans, £45; Moda In Pelle Peep Toe Boots, £49.95.
I loved this top when it arrvied as part of an ASOS order but there was a stitch in the neck line I didn’t like, you can see it in the picture below. I unpicked the stitch and popped a lace cami underneath to protect my modesty! I wasn’t going to be as brave as this ASOS model! My Miu Miu bag is a favourite of mine, black yellow and pink but the same style as below.
