Some people (my husband included!) would say I am blessed with a large bust and booty to match, but when shopping for dresses, jeans, tops I struggle to find styles that suit my figure without making me looking like a sack of potatoes!
Dressing a plus size figure can be hard work. Being a curvy girl means that even though a lot of the ‘straight size’ brands now stock sizes up to 22 sometimes even 24 the cut isn’t always tailored to a fuller body shape.
I was really pleased to hear that the very well know and high end brand Phase Eight are launching a new plus size range aiming to offer ‘premium stylish clothing for every occasion’.
There is a really great blog post on the Studio 8 site, an extract below highlights trends and ideas that influenced designer, Catherine Le Huray, and buyer, Eleanor Freret, and they talk through the creative process that led to their acclaimed launch collection.
“Studio 8 is a brand designed entirely with the plus size customer in mind. We’ve been meticulous about fitting our garments on a size 18 and size 24 model throughout the process, so that the finished garment truly flatters and fits.
Attention to detail is key, and a level of our design has been influenced by the latest trends to create a truly contemporary collection. We’ve strived to use beautiful fabrics, unique prints and contemporary designs that are rarely being offered at this level.”

I am very excited to be attending the launch of Studio 8 at John Lewis in Kingston on Thursday 13th August. As a guest I will receive a Clarins beauty treat before talking to Eleanor Freret and then trying on the collection.
